The Wunti Al-Khair Foundation, a non-profit organisation, has distributed thousands of new clothes to the less privileged to ensure many individuals, especially children, can celebrate this year's Eid al-Kabir with dignity and joy.

The foundation also distributed over 20,000 bags of rice across the 20 local government areas in Bauchi State to ensure that families have access to essential food supplies throughout Ramadan and other humanitarian and empowerment initiatives that support hundreds thousands of individuals during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Speaking with journalists on Wednesday at the conclusion of the rice distribution program, part of their annual Ramadan support initiative, Ango Mustapha, the Director of Programs, highlighted the foundation’s commitment to impactful interventions.

He stated that the foundation has implemented several initiatives aimed at ensuring that the less privileged, fasting Muslims, and the broader Bauchi community experience the blessings of Ramadan with dignity and ease.

He further noted that the foundation has provided over 3,000 cooked meals daily to fasting Muslims in various communities across Bauchi, offering nourishment to those in need and fostering a spirit of communal support.

"In addition to structured distributions, we engaged in spontaneous acts of kindness, ensuring that often-overlooked individuals such as street workers, security personnel, and members of the Muslim Students' Society at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, and College of Education Kangere felt valued and supported," he added.

The foundation also created a unique opportunity for over 200 children to participate in Quran recitation (Daura) at the Eid ground during Ramadan to encourages young Muslims to deepen their connection with the Holy Quran while also providing food for them and other members of the Muslim Ummah in the Filin Idi community.

"Guided by the principles of our chairman and founder, Dr. Bala Wunti—compassion, generosity, and social responsibility—our foundation has, over the years, provided sustainable interventions that improve lives, foster unity, and promote development," Mustapha stated.

To enhance the spiritual experience of Ramadan, the foundation sponsored the broadcast of Quranic Tafsir sessions by esteemed Islamic scholars across major radio and TV stations to ensure that individuals, including those who may not have access to physical gatherings, could benefit from valuable Islamic teachings.

Additionally, the foundation trained volunteers in crowd control strategies, traffic management, emergency response preparedness, and the role of volunteerism. These efforts aimed to maintain order, ensure security, and foster a peaceful atmosphere for worshippers during Eid prayers.

"As a token of appreciation, we have extended support to those who dedicate their time and efforts to serving others during Sallah, ensuring they can also observe the celebrations with ease. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our volunteers, agents, and ambassadors whose unwavering support made this program a success," Mustapha added.

He also used the opportunity to urge journalists to raise awareness among the public about fraudsters who wrongfully collect money under the guise of facilitating access to the foundation’s initiatives.

"As we reflect on this month of mercy, Wunti Al-Khair Foundation remains committed to sustained humanitarian efforts beyond Ramadan. Together, we can build a society where kindness is a daily practice, not just a seasonal gesture," he concluded.
