The Niger State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has commended the Niger State Government for its proactive approach in engaging the public on ongoing infrastructural projects across the state.

In a statement issued by the Chapter Chairman, Alhaji Mahmud Abdullahi, MNIPR, the Institute lauded the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure for its efforts in promoting transparency and accountability through timely information sharing and public engagement.

According to Abdullahi, the government’s commitment to keeping citizens informed about the progress and challenges of its infrastructure overhaul projects reflects a strong sense of responsibility and openness.

"The recent public engagement by the Ministry of Works, where they acknowledged the inconveniences caused by the projects and provided updates on mitigation strategies — including temporary relief measures such as water supply — highlights a commendable, citizen-centric approach," he said.

The NIPR praised the state government's efforts in fostering trust and responsiveness and urged it to sustain this model of communication and involvement throughout the duration of the projects.

"We encourage the government to continue this inclusive approach, ensuring that the voices of the people are heard and considered during the implementation of these vital infrastructure projects," the statement added.
