The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) bloc of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State has declared its unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, urging unity and patience among party members amid ongoing national reforms.

This declaration was made by Senator Ahmed Abubakar MoAllahyidi, Chairman of the CPC Steering Committee in Adamawa and a former senator representing Adamawa South, during a press briefing held in Yola on Saturday.

Senator MoAllahyidi emphasized that the CPC bloc has been the foundational strength of the APC, playing a pivotal role in its rise to power and continued governance since 2015. He recalled the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari under the CPC banner from 2015 to 2023, stating that Buhari remains loyal to the party that gave him a platform to serve Nigeria.

He highlighted several key achievements of the previous CPC-led administration, including major infrastructure developments, economic recovery plans, anti-corruption reforms, and significant strides in agriculture and social investment programmes. MoAllahyidi pointed out that during Buhari’s tenure, numerous national projects were completed, and innovative policies were introduced, which strengthened the country’s economy and governance systems.

Acknowledging the current economic challenges faced by Nigerians, the former senator urged party loyalists to remain firm and patient with the Tinubu-led administration. He said that the current difficulties are part of a larger reform process that will ultimately lead to a stronger economy and better governance. He stressed that internal disagreements or frustrations must not be allowed to divide the party or derail its objectives.

MoAllahyidi warned that the opposition is watching closely, waiting for any sign of disunity within the APC. He encouraged members to stand by the ideals that brought them together, reminding them that abandoning the party now would only undermine the collective sacrifices made over the years.

He also reaffirmed support for the principle of rotational presidency between the North and the South, emphasizing it as a measure of fairness and national unity. According to him, this principle must be preserved to ensure continued equity and balance in the country’s leadership structure.

In closing, he described the APC — with CPC as a strong pillar — as more than just a political party. He said it is a movement, a family, and a legacy that must not be abandoned, urging everyone to remain committed for the sake of future generations.
