The National Library of Nigeria, Bauchi State Branch, has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the education, rights, and overall welfare of children as it marked the 2025 Children’s Day with a colourful celebration at its Bauchi complex.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Regina Olohiliye Ngorngor, Assistant Director and Head of the Bauchi Branch of the National Library, emphasized that children remain central to the library's developmental agenda. She stressed the importance of nurturing a strong reading culture among children and integrating modern technological innovations, including artificial intelligence, into their learning processes.

Mrs. Ngorngor used the occasion to call on parents, guardians, educators, and other critical stakeholders in Bauchi and across Nigeria to play a more active role in advancing education and research. She particularly emphasized the need to reach out to out-of-school children and promote inclusive education that aligns with globally accepted standards.

She encouraged students to acquire productive skills that add value to their academic knowledge, while also advocating for the establishment of more vocational and technology-based institutions to meet the country’s developmental needs.

Highlighting the importance of aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Mrs. Ngorngor urged all stakeholders to support the government’s efforts to place Nigeria on the global educational map.

The event was marked by vibrant cultural performances, inspiring speeches, and renewed pledges of support for education from various dignitaries. The celebration also underscored the Bauchi State Government’s ongoing dedication to educational development under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed.

Speakers at the occasion lauded the efforts of the National Library in promoting literacy and education, especially among children, and called for sustained collaboration between public institutions and communities to ensure the full realization of children's rights and educational potential.
