In a decisive move toward sustainable development and economic advancement, the Executive Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government, Hon. Jamilu Abubakar Albani, on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, officially flagged off three major infrastructure projects aimed at transforming the area and improving the quality of life for its residents.
Speaking at the grand flag-off ceremony, the Chairman described the event as a "significant milestone" in the ongoing efforts to reposition the local government through strategic infrastructure development. He stated that the projects are part of a broader vision to lay a strong foundation for a brighter and more prosperous future.
The first of the projects is a flyover road at Kwangila in Hanwa Ward, which is expected to serve as a major transportation link between Northern Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The flyover is also projected to enhance economic activities and promote social integration within the region.
The second is a bridge at Palladan in Basawa Ward, designed to ease traffic flow and improve connectivity within the area. The bridge is anticipated to significantly boost economic interactions and facilitate easier movement across the ward.
The third project is the construction of Sakadadi Road in Dogarawa Ward. This initiative aims to improve mobility and enhance residents’ access to essential social services, ultimately raising the standard of living in the ward.
“These projects reflect our unwavering commitment to the development and well-being of our people,” the Chairman emphasised. “They will be executed with utmost transparency, accountability, and strict adherence to quality standards.”
He called on residents to cooperate with contractors and relevant government agencies to ensure the timely and successful completion of the projects.
He added, “Together, let us build a better Sabon Gari—one where our citizens can live comfortably, access basic services, and pursue their dreams freely.”
The Chairman concluded his address with prayers and goodwill for the local government, Kaduna State, and the nation at large.
The event was graced by dignitaries, community leaders, and key stakeholders, who expressed optimism about the positive impact the projects would have on the local economy and social structure.
Among those in attendance were the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Aminu Abdullahi Shagali; Member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly representing Sabon Gari Constituency, Nasiru Idi; the Senior Special Assistant to the Kaduna State Government on Workers’ Affairs; APC party council leaders; and other prominent figures.
