The Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government and Chairman of the Kaduna State chapter of the Association of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGON), Honorable Sheikh Muhammad Jamilu Abubakar Albani Samaru, has provided financial support totaling ₦1.2 million to postgraduate students pursuing their Master's degrees. The beneficiaries include twelve students—ten pursuing Master’s degrees and two enrolled in PhD programs.
The presentation ceremony was held at the main conference hall of the Local Government Secretariat in Dogarawa.
In his remarks, Honorable Jamilu Abubakar explained that the initiative was the result of careful planning aimed at strengthening educational development within Sabon Gari and across Kaduna State.
He emphasised that Governor Uba Sani’s administration is one built on compassion and justice. This, he said, inspired the decision to support these Master's students to ease the financial burden of their academic pursuits. He noted that ₦1.2 million was specifically allocated for this purpose.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the students' leader, Comrade Jibirin Salihi, expressed deep gratitude for the gesture. He also pledged the students' continued support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at all levels, in recognition of the care and attention shown by both the Kaduna State Government under Governor Senator Uba Sani and the Sabon Gari Local Government Chairman, Hon. Jamilu Abubakar Albani.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Kamilu Abdul-Kareem, and Hon. Sani Jibirin Chikaji, along with other key stakeholders.
The ceremony concluded with prayers and blessings offered by religious leaders and scholars, commending the Chairman for his dedication and commitment to the development of Sabon Gari Local Government.
