Kano's prominent business magnate and respected philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has died at the age of 94.
The elder statesman reportedly passed away in the early hours of Saturday in Abuja.
His death was confirmed by his Principal Private Secretary, Mustapha Junaid, in a heartfelt message shared on Facebook.
“With deep sorrow, I announce the passing of our beloved father, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata. Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus,” Junaid wrote.
Details regarding the Janazah (funeral prayers) will be announced in due course, he added.
