The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has elected Hon. Kamilu Sa'idu (Wamban Kasuwar Daji) as its candidate for the forthcoming Kaura Namoda South State Assembly bye-election, scheduled for August 16, 2025.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Yusuf Idris Gusau, the APC Publicity Secretary in Zamfara State. According to the statement, Hon. Kamilu emerged as the consensus candidate following the withdrawal of three other aspirants—Hon. Bashir Muhammad Madaro (Walin Kurya), Hon. Anas S/Fada, and Alhaji Ashiru Hamisu Habibu—during the party primaries held at Kasuwar Daji Primary School.

The three aspirants pledged their support for Hon. Kamilu Sa'idu and promised to work towards his victory and that of the party in the upcoming bye-election.

Thirty delegates, elected from the six wards of Kagara, Dan-Isa, Sakajiki, Kurya, Kyambarawa, and Banga, unanimously affirmed Kamilu’s candidature.

Hon. Kamilu Sa'idu was officially declared the winner of the primary election by the Chairman of the APC National Primary Election Committee, Barrister Babande B. Imam, who supervised the exercise in Zamfara State.

Barrister Babande stated that Hon. Kamilu met all constitutional requirements of the party and was duly affirmed by the ward delegates under the supervision of officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by INEC Commissioner Dr. Muhammad Isah and his team.

Following the announcement, Chairman of the APC Primary Election Appeal Committee, Hon. Isah Halilu Ahmad, inquired if there were any complaints regarding the conduct of the primary election. Both aspirants and delegates confirmed there were none, affirming the transparency and fairness of the process.

The primary election was witnessed by key APC stakeholders, including the State Party Chairman Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani; Secretary Hon. Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima; Deputy Chairman Alhaji Hassan Marafa Damri; Former APC Chairman Hon. Lawal M. Liman and his Secretary Hon. Sani Musa T/Mafara; as well as members of the State Working Committee such as Publicity Secretary Yusuf Idris Gusau, Welfare Secretary Bashir Idris Ataka, State Youth Leader Musa Idris Ardo, and Assistant Publicity Secretary Junaidu Attahiru Dosara, among others.

The exercise was conducted peacefully under the observation of security agencies and INEC officials.
