Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has reiterated his administration’s resolve to decisively deal with informants aiding bandits across the state.

The governor gave the assurance on Saturday during a sympathy visit to Zogirma village in Bunza Local Government Area, where three police officers were recently killed by unidentified gunmen at their duty post.

“I want to sound a serious warning to informants who are supplying bandits with information about the activities of their own people for personal gain,” he declared.

“They must either repent or face the consequences. There will be no hiding place for them in Kebbi State. They cannot continue to hold our people to ransom — we will deal with them decisively and mercilessly.”

Governor Idris emphasized that his administration would no longer tolerate any act of sabotage or criminality that endangers the lives of citizens and disturbs public peace.

“The state government is working on a law that will prescribe the death penalty for informants found guilty of aiding bandits,” he revealed.

He added that the government has requested the deployment of additional security personnel to the affected area to enhance protection of lives and property.

Also speaking during the visit, the Chairman of Bunza Local Government Council, Zayyanu Shehu, thanked the governor for his prompt response and urged him to sustain the momentum.

Describing the incident as an act of God, Shehu called on residents to remain steadfast in their faith, expressing confidence that divine justice would ultimately prevail.

The District Head of Bunza, Alhaji Tijjani Mohammed, also expressed appreciation to the governor for his continuous support, especially during difficult times. He appealed for increased security presence in the area to prevent further attacks.
