The Niger State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has distanced itself from what it describes as an illegal faction allegedly led by one Mohammed Auta Gusoro, who is accused of impersonating party leadership and creating unauthorised local government structures in the state.

In a press statement signed by the ADC State Secretary, Alhaji Musa Baba Giwa, the party said Mr. Gusoro has been parading himself and mobilising individuals as "Local Government Chairmen of ADC" without any constitutional backing or approval from the party’s recognised leadership.

The party described the development as a blatant act of impersonation and a deliberate attempt to destabilise the ADC in Niger State.

“Mr. Mohammed Auta Gusoro has no constitutional authority to appoint or announce Local Government Chairmen under the ADC. Such powers are vested solely in the legitimate State and National leadership of the party,” the statement read.

The party further condemned the actions of Mr. Gusoro and his associates, calling them a gross violation of the ADC Constitution and an affront to the authority of the National Working Committee.

“This is not just an internal breach. It is a calculated attempt to undermine the structure and unity of our great party in Niger State,” the statement added.

In a strong message to the public, government agencies, and security operatives, the party urged everyone to disregard any announcements, groupings, or representations made by Mr. Gusoro or anyone claiming that the ADC State Chairman, Alhaji Musa Hassan, has been removed.

“Alhaji Musa Hassan remains the only duly recognised and confirmed State Chairman of the ADC in Niger State. Any contrary claim should be treated as false and mischievous,” the party emphasised.

Reaffirming its commitment to internal democracy, peace, and unity, the ADC leadership in the state assured its members and supporters that the party would not allow personal ambitions to derail its progress.

The statement concluded by disclosing that the matter has been reported to the party’s National Headquarters and the appropriate security agencies for further investigation and necessary action.
