The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured a decisive victory in the by-elections for the Kaduna State House of Assembly seats in Zaria Kewaye and Basawa constituencies held on Saturday.
Announcing the official results on Sunday, the Returning Officer for Zaria Kewaye, Professor Balarabe Abdullahi, declared Isa Haruna Ihamo of the APC as the winner, having polled a total of 26,613 votes.
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, Nuhu Sada Abdullahi, came second with 5,721 votes, while Mamuda Abdullahi Wappa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) garnered 5,331 votes.
In the Basawa Constituency, the APC also emerged victorious, securing 10,926 votes to defeat the PDP, which polled 5,499 votes.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has since concluded collation and announced the APC candidates as duly elected members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
