The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Matthew Dogara Daje, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the by-election for the Munya Constituency seat in the Niger State House of Assembly.
The by-election, held on Saturday, saw Daje secure a total of 12,556 votes, defeating his closest contender, Sabo Sunday Adabyinlo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 5,646 votes.
According to the official results released by INEC, the APC won in 10 out of the 11 wards in the constituency, while the PDP clinched victory in just one ward.
With this outcome, the APC further consolidates its majority in the Niger State House of Assembly.
