A mentally unstable man who has reportedly been terrorising residents along the Tudun Wada–PZ axis of Sabon Gari, Zaria, has been apprehended in a joint operation involving security operatives and members of the local community.
According to eyewitness accounts, the individual had attacked and injured several people in recent days, sparking widespread concern and panic among residents.
Confirming the development, the Executive Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government and ALGON Chairman for Kaduna State, Hon. Sheikh Jamilu Abubakar Albani Samaru Zaria, commended both the security agencies and the vigilant community members for their swift response.
“Thanks to the vigilance of our people and the rapid response of the security team, the suspect is now in custody and no longer poses a threat to public safety,” he stated.
The Chairman further revealed that the individual will be formally handed over to the relevant authorities for appropriate medical and legal evaluation.
Hon. Sheikh Jamilu reiterated his administration’s commitment to the safety and wellbeing of all residents, urging continued collaboration between the public and security agencies.
“We remain committed to ensuring the security of lives and property in Sabon Gari. We thank the community for their cooperation and encourage residents to continue reporting any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities,” he said.
