The MOGGAL FULBE Pulako Development Association of Nigeria has officially inaugurated the Niger State Secretariat of the association, under the leadership of Alhaji Abdullahi Bodo.

Speaking at the event, former Commissioner for Nomadic and Pastoral Affairs in Niger State, Hon. Ahmed Sanda Rebe, praised Governor Umar Mohammed Bago for fulfilling his promise to include Fulani herders in his administration.

“In just two years since the ministry was established, we’ve seen remarkable progress. Over 70% of the challenges faced by herders have been addressed under this administration,” Rebe noted. He emphasized that conflicts between farmers and herders have been significantly reduced through deliberate government action.

Rebe urged Fulani communities to remain united and avoid divisions caused by the proliferation of splinter groups. He also commended the National Chairman of MOGGAL FULBE, Alhaji Sani Juli, for expanding the association’s presence in Niger State.

In his remarks, Alhaji Sani Juli, who is also a former National Vice Chairman of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, said that despite the emergence of various Fulani-focused organizations, they all share the goal of improving the welfare and development of the Fulani people.

“Today, insecurity affects all of us—Fulani and non-Fulani alike. But we must commend the Niger State government for taking concrete steps to address the needs of herders, especially in the area of education,” Juli said.

He praised the government’s efforts to resolve the farmer-herder conflict and recognized the cooperation of traditional leaders and security agencies in maintaining peace. He also lauded Hon. Rebe for resolving past issues of harassment and wrongful arrests of Fulani by security forces.

Also speaking, the women’s leader of the association in Niger State, Hajiya Aisha Mohammed, applauded the state government for initiating schemes that directly benefit Fulani women. She cited the creation of trading shelters for dairy products like fura da nono, which have improved the economic prospects of Fulani women traders.

She called on the government to replicate the initiative in all 25 local government areas and urged Fulani families to ensure their wives and daughters register for Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), emphasizing the need for INEC to decentralize registration down to polling units.

Alhaji Shehu Danfulani, the Fulani Chief of Limawa and deputy leader of the group in the state, also commended the unity among Fulani herdsmen and emphasized that continued cooperation with government and security agencies would ensure long-lasting peace.

Representing Fulani leader and former National Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders, Alhaji Hussaini Yusuf (Jarman Chinbi), Alhaji Isma'ila Rebe (Ardon Bosso), urged Fulani communities to support both the Niger State government under “Farmer Governor” Dr. Umar Mohammed Bago, and the federal government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He described the creation of the Ministry of Nomadic and Pastoral Affairs in Niger and the Ministry of Livestock at the federal level as commendable steps towards inclusive development.

The event drew participants from across Nigeria—including Adamawa, Benue, Lagos—and from neighboring countries, signaling wide support for the MOGGAL FULBE movement.
