— Commends Him for Outstanding Leadership

By Awwal Umar Kontagora

The Niger State House of Assembly, during its plenary on Tuesday, passed a vote of confidence on the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Alhaji Aminu Bobi, citing what it described as his outstanding leadership and commitment to party development.

Alhaji Aminu Bobi, who assumed office on August 4, 2023, following the resignation of his predecessor, Engineer Jibrin Imam, was lauded for demonstrating visionary leadership and the capacity to elevate the party's profile in the state.

The motion for the vote of confidence was moved by the member representing Tafa Constituency, Hon. Sani Idris, who praised the chairman’s achievements in unifying the party and guiding it with purpose.

According to Hon. Idris, “Alhaji Aminu Bobi’s leadership over the past two years has brought sanity and direction to the APC in Niger State. He has shown competence, courage, and the ability to lead the party to victory at all levels, especially as we approach the 2027 general elections.”

He further noted that under Bobi’s leadership, the number of APC lawmakers in the Assembly increased from 18 to 27, effectively making the House an all-APC chamber.

“The chairman has strategically represented the party’s interests in the legislature. His persuasive leadership encouraged members initially elected on opposition platforms to defect to the APC, thereby strengthening the party’s dominance,” Idris stated.

The lawmaker emphasized that the chairman’s policies and decisions have consistently aligned with the APC’s core values and supported the implementation of the New Niger Project—the developmental blueprint of the current administration.

Following contributions from other members—many of whom echoed similar commendations—the House unanimously adopted the motion and formally passed a vote of confidence on Chairman Aminu Bobi.

In its resolution, the Assembly urged him to sustain his efforts in promoting party unity, inclusiveness, and internal democracy—described as critical pillars of effective governance and political development.
