The Rector of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Mohammed Kabir Abdullahi, has approved a reduction in students’ hostel accommodation fees from ₦10,000 to ₦6,090, in a bid to ease financial burdens and improve students’ welfare.
Speaking on the decision, Dr. Abdullahi emphasized that the move is part of the institution’s ongoing effort to ensure every student has access to decent and affordable accommodation while maintaining an environment conducive to learning and academic excellence.
Engr. Aliyu Musa Kofa, Head of Career Services and Polytechnic Advancement, speaking on behalf of the Rector, described the reduction as a key reform aimed at supporting students’ well-being and aligning with the educational development agenda of the Kaduna State Government.
“The Rector’s leadership has consistently prioritised students’ welfare and academic development. This reduction in hostel fees reflects his commitment to making education accessible to all,” Engr. Kofa said.
Dr. Abdullahi also commended Governor Uba Sani for his administration’s intervention in renovating and upgrading hostels at both the Main Campus and Gaskiya Annex. The refurbished hostels were furnished and given a facelift to enhance living standards and promote academic excellence.
“We are sincerely grateful to Governor Uba Sani for his continued dedication to the education sector and for his tangible support to Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic,” the Rector added, noting that the collaboration with the state government has significantly contributed to the institution’s growth and development.
Meanwhile, the Polytechnic has released its admission list for the 2025/2026 academic session, urging newly admitted students to complete registration as lectures are set to commence soon. The management also announced that applications for the National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) are ongoing, encouraging eligible students to apply for financial support.
The Polytechnic reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality technical education, modern facilities, and an environment that fosters learning, research, and innovation.
