The wife of Bauchi state Governor, Hajiya Aisha Bala Muhammad, has reaffirmed the state government's commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of families of fallen heroes who paid the supreme price in the defence of Nigeria.

The First Lady made this known yesterday during a visit to the headquarters of the 33 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Army, Bauchi, as part of activities marking the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day. During the visit, she donated relief materials and offered words of encouragement to families of deceased officers and soldiers.

Represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Lydia Haruna Tsammani, the First Lady called on well-meaning individuals and organisations to continually remember and support families of fallen heroes who lost their lives while safeguarding the nation's territorial integrity.

She expressed hope that the gesture would bring relief and comfort to the beneficiaries and urged them to make judicious use of the items provided.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Commander of the 33 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General U. G. Simon commended the Bauchi State Government under the leadership of Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad for its consistent support and concern for the welfare of citizens, especially families of fallen military personnel.

Simon assured that the donated items would be fairly distributed to the intended beneficiaries and expressed appreciation to the First Lady for her compassion and unwavering support.

The visit highlights the Bauchi State Government's resolve to honour the sacrifices of members of the Armed Forces and to stand in solidarity with their families.
