Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has felicitated with Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, Founder of Maryam Abacha American University (MAAUN), on the occasion of his 48th birthday.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf described Professor Gwarzo as a distinguished edupreneur, an erudite scholar, and a pillar of private higher education in Nigeria and West Africa.
The governor praised Professor Gwarzo’s visionary leadership and commitment to educational excellence, noting that his investments in education have provided quality learning opportunities for thousands of young people both within and outside Nigeria.
He highlighted that the establishment of MAAUN reflects Professor Gwarzo’s belief in knowledge as a tool for societal transformation, innovation, and sustainable development, adding that the university continues to uphold global standards in teaching, research, and character development.
Governor Yusuf also commended Professor Gwarzo for his contributions to human capital development, peace-building, and youth empowerment, noting that his achievements have earned him recognition nationally and internationally.
The governor prayed for Almighty Allah to grant Professor Gwarzo good health, long life, and renewed strength to continue serving humanity and advancing education.
