The Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) in Charanchi, Katsina State, has suspended a cleric, Malam Kabir Muhammad Almisirana, from all activities of the organization over alleged breaches of its rules and operational guidelines.
The decision was conveyed in a letter dated April 20, 2026, issued by the leadership of the group, stating that the action followed a review of statements and conduct attributed to the cleric.
According to the letter, the allegations include making inciting remarks and publicly criticising government authorities, including security agencies—actions the organization said are inconsistent with its code of conduct.
The cleric has consequently been barred from leading Friday prayers and delivering sermons across all JIBWIS centres within Charanchi Local Government Area.
In addition, he has been prohibited from participating in any da’awah (religious outreach) or organizational engagements, while all official relations with him have been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation.
However, the organization clarified that the Islamiyya school under his supervision is not affected by the disciplinary action and will continue to operate as usual.
Copies of the letter were forwarded to relevant security agencies, including the police, the DSS, and the NSCDC, as well as the religious affairs adviser to the Charanchi Local Government Council, for their information.
The letter was signed by the Chairman of JIBWIS in Charanchi, Alhaji Garba Galadima, and the organization’s secretary.
