In a strategic move to deepen collaboration and strengthen party cohesion, officials of the North Central APC Support Group Council, led by its Deputy Director General, Alhaji Lameen Aliyu, paid an advocacy and familiarisation visit to the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.
The delegation was received by the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nantawe Goshwe Yilwatda, who commended the support groups for organising themselves under a structured and coordinated platform.
During the meeting, the chairman assured the council of inclusion in the party’s programmes and activities, describing the unification of various support groups as a positive development capable of strengthening the APC’s grassroots mobilisation and political outreach.
He also expressed appreciation for the council’s efforts in bringing together support groups across the North Central zone under a clearly defined structure, noting that such initiatives are critical to party growth and electoral success.
As part of the visit’s highlights, members of the council decorated the National Chairman and other principal officers with branded mufflers and face caps, and presented commemorative souvenirs as a symbol of solidarity and support.
Speaking during the engagement, Alhaji Lameen Aliyu outlined the purpose of the visit, explaining that it was aimed at formally introducing the council to the party’s national leadership while providing insight into its objectives, operational framework, membership spread, and strategic vision.
He noted that the council has continued to expand its reach across the North Central region, serving as a rallying platform for loyal party supporters and grassroots mobilisers.
However, the Deputy Director General also highlighted key challenges facing the council, including the absence of a reward mechanism for dedicated members and inadequate recognition by party structures at various levels.
According to him, addressing these concerns is essential to sustaining morale, deepening commitment, and encouraging greater participation among grassroots mobilisers who contribute significantly to the party’s success.
The visit is seen as a significant step toward fostering closer synergy between the party leadership and its support structures, while reinforcing the role of organised support groups in the APC’s broader political strategy.
