The Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has distributed food items to 600 vulnerable persons, mostly women, in Zamfara State under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).
The distribution exercise, held at the Zamfara Trade Fair Complex in Gusau on Thursday, was aimed at supporting less privileged citizens across the country.
Speaking at the event, Senator Tinubu, who was represented by the Wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Kashim Shettima, said the initiative was designed to strengthen social investment programmes and raise awareness on the Renewed Hope Initiative across the nation.
She added that the statewide distribution programme would be extended to all 36 states of the federation.
Earlier in her remarks, the Wife of the Zamfara State Governor, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the welfare of women, children, and other vulnerable groups.
She noted that the First Lady’s initiative had continued to provide relief and hope to families nationwide, stressing that it focuses on uplifting communities through social investment programmes.
Hajiya Huriyya also commended the wives of Northern governors for their solidarity at the event, describing it as a demonstration of regional cooperation and support for humanitarian interventions.
The event was attended by the wives of the 19 Northern governors, whose presence was also commended by the Zamfara First Lady.
