Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has extended warm felicitations to Muslims across the world on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The governor, in a message issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, thanked Allah for granting the Muslim faithful the opportunity to witness and celebrate this year’s festival of sacrifice.

Governor Bago stated that Eid-el-Kabir commemorates the absolute devotion, obedience, and submission of Prophet Ibrahim to the will of Allah.

He urged Muslims to renew their commitment, devotion, and steadfastness in the worship and service of Allah.
The governor also encouraged the Muslim faithful to use the occasion to demonstrate love, compassion, and charity, especially toward the less privileged and vulnerable members of society.

He further called on Muslims to pray fervently for peace, sustainable growth, and development in Niger State and Nigeria as a whole.

Governor Bago also appealed to the Muslim Ummah to continue praying for and supporting leaders at all levels in order to ensure purposeful and people-oriented leadership.

While wishing Muslims a peaceful and memorable Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.

He cautioned residents, particularly youths, against engaging in acts of violence or any activity capable of disrupting public peace during and after the festivities.

The governor added that security agencies had been directed to deal decisively with anyone found disturbing public order.
