Engineer Murtala Ibrahim Sheme on Thursday, July 9, 2026, met with members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Mayanan Katsina Hall in the old town of Yankara, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, as part of efforts to strengthen unity within the party.
During the meeting, APC members commended Sheme for his commitment to the party and his continued support for its members. They also praised the Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, for the developmental projects executed in Yankara, describing them as unprecedented in the community's history.
The party members, however, appealed to their elected representatives to intensify efforts to attract more development projects to the area and to extend greater support to party members at various levels.
Responding, Engineer Murtala Ibrahim Sheme thanked the APC members for their warm reception and assured them that he had taken note of the concerns and grievances they expressed. He also lauded the Wamban Faskari, Honourable Hamza Suleiman Faskari, for his contributions to the development of Faskari Local Government Area.
Later that day, Sheme visited Madarasatul Auladin Musulimina in Sabon Fegi, Yankara, where he announced a donation of N2 million towards the renovation of the school.
Addressing the gathering, Sheme stressed that his support for religious causes is independent of politics. He said the donation was made purely for the sake of Allah and should not be viewed as a political gesture.
