The Chairman of the Al-Ihsan Charity and Orphan Foundation, Kaduna, Dr. Adamu Abdullahi, has attributed his lifelong passion for humanitarian service to the influence of his late father, Alhaji Abdullahi, whose commitment to helping the less privileged inspired him from an early age.
Dr. Adamu made this known while speaking with journalists in Zaria after a meeting aimed at promoting unity among youths in Northern Nigeria.
He said the values of compassion, generosity, and selfless service were instilled in him through the exemplary lifestyle of his late father, who dedicated much of his life to assisting orphans, widows, and other vulnerable members of society.
"My passion for helping the less privileged was inspired by my late father. While growing up, we watched him extend support to people from within and outside our community. Whenever you visited our family home, you would find people seeking assistance, and by the grace of Allah, my father always had something to offer them," he said.
Dr. Adamu noted that his father's enduring legacy of kindness motivated him to establish and sustain humanitarian interventions through the Al-Ihsan Charity and Orphan Foundation, where he currently serves as Chairman.
According to him, the foundation has continued to implement programmes in community development, healthcare support, educational assistance, orphan care, and other humanitarian initiatives, benefiting thousands of vulnerable people across Kaduna State and other parts of the country.
He expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting him the opportunity to serve humanity and for the increasing recognition of the foundation's humanitarian activities.
The foundation's chairman also appreciated individuals, organisations, and philanthropists who have continued to support its programmes, praying that Almighty Allah rewards them abundantly for their generosity and commitment to improving the lives of the less privileged.
Dr. Adamu called on wealthy individuals and other well-meaning Nigerians to embrace the culture of philanthropy, stressing that extending support to those in need not only transforms lives but also attracts divine blessings.
"We are proud of the legacy our father left behind. His life continues to inspire us, and we remain committed to preserving the values of compassion, generosity, and selfless service that he instilled in us," he added.
He concluded by praying for the repose of his late father, asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him eternal mercy, and admit him into Al-Jannah Firdaus. He also offered prayers for all departed Muslims.
At the end of the meeting, participants commended Dr. Adamu Abdullahi for his unwavering commitment to humanitarian service, particularly his support for orphans, widows, and other vulnerable groups.
They described his contributions as impactful and urged him to sustain the foundation's programmes in order to improve the lives of more vulnerable people across Kaduna State and beyond.
