The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Jigawa State Command, has witnessed a change of leadership following the successful handing-over and taking-over ceremony between the outgoing State Controller, Deputy Controller of Fire (DCF) Garzali Ado Ahmed, and the incoming State Controller, Assistant Controller of Fire (ACF) Tahir Muhammad Ayuba.

The ceremony, held at the State Command Headquarters on Monday, marked the formal transfer of leadership after DCF Garzali's appointment as the Zonal Controller for Zone Q, comprising Adamawa and Taraba States.

In his farewell address, DCF Garzali expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for a successful and fulfilling tenure in Jigawa State.

He commended officers and personnel of the command for their loyalty, professionalism, dedication, and unwavering support, describing their commitment as instrumental to the achievements recorded during his administration.

The outgoing State Controller also appreciated the Jigawa State Government, traditional institutions, security agencies, development partners, stakeholders, and the people of the state for their cooperation, which, he said, contributed significantly to the command's operational success and improved service delivery.

He urged officers and personnel to remain disciplined, dedicated, and professional in the discharge of their duties, stressing the importance of sustaining excellence in fire prevention, emergency response, and public service.

In his acceptance speech, the new State Controller, ACF Tahir Muhammad Ayuba, expressed appreciation to the Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service, CGF Olumode Samuel Adeyemi, MBA, ACTI, for the confidence reposed in him through his appointment.

He pledged to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessor by strengthening teamwork, enhancing collaboration with relevant stakeholders and partner agencies, and improving operational efficiency across Jigawa State.

"I am committed to working closely with every officer and stakeholder to further strengthen the Service's capacity to safeguard lives and property while improving service delivery across the state," he said.

The ceremony was attended by senior officers, personnel of the Federal Fire Service, and other invited guests, who witnessed the orderly transfer of authority and reaffirmed their commitment to the Service's mandate of protecting lives and property through efficient, professional, and people-centred service.

The leadership transition underscores the Federal Fire Service's commitment to institutional continuity, effective administration, and operational excellence in delivering critical fire safety and emergency management services to the people of Jigawa State.
