The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Association of Butchers in Yankara on Saturday, July 11, 2026, held a meeting at the town's abattoir in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, where members reaffirmed their loyalty to the party and appealed for the rehabilitation and modernisation of the facility.
Addressing participants, the Chairman of the PDP Butchers' Association in Yankara, Alhaji Murtala Alhassan, said the meeting was convened to reaffirm members' commitment to the PDP and to advocate for projects that would improve the abattoir and the wider community.
He described the butchers as hardworking and community-minded individuals, stressing that the rehabilitation of the abattoir remains their foremost priority.
"We are loyal PDP members from top to bottom, and we wish all our party's candidates success. The purpose of this meeting is to seek development for our abattoir and our community. We want the facility rehabilitated, modernised and equipped to meet contemporary standards," he said.
Alhaji Murtala emphasised that the association's objective was not to seek financial benefits but to articulate its developmental priorities and reaffirm its unwavering support for the party, noting that members remain committed to candidates they collectively endorse.
Among the association's requests were the installation of security lighting, the comprehensive modernisation of the abattoir, and the execution of other infrastructure projects to improve the welfare of residents.
The meeting was attended by prominent party stakeholders, including Alhaji Gambo Sharu, Alhaji Sanusi Nelda, Hon. Danbala Khalid, Hon. Halilu Umar Guys and Aminu Gambo Sharu.
Also in attendance were representatives of the Butchers' Association, including its Youth Chairman, Aminu Alhassan Kwari, and Madawakin Fawa.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants reaffirmed their commitment to the PDP, pledging to remain steadfast in their support for the party through the election period and to vote for candidates they believe will protect their interests and promote meaningful development in their community.
