A leading figure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, Engr. Murtala Ibrahim Sheme, has intensified his grassroots mobilisation campaign through a series of strategic consultations and courtesy visits to Islamic scholars, community elders, youth leaders, party officials and other key stakeholders across the local government area.
The ongoing outreach is aimed at fostering unity within the party and the wider community while promoting the vision, leadership credentials and development agenda of Hamza Suleiman, the Wamban Faskari and APC House of Representatives candidate for the Faskari/Kankara/Sabuwa Federal Constituency.
As part of the engagements, Engr. Sheme, on Thursday, July 16, 2026, met with Islamic scholars, respected community leaders, teachers of Nururil Islam School in Yankara and executives of the Jama'atu Izalatil Bid'ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), Yankara Branch. Discussions centred on the importance of unity, community development and collective responsibility in advancing the interests of the constituency.
The following day, Friday, July 17, 2026, Engr. Sheme held discussions with members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Daudawa Ward in Faskari Local Government Area. According to him, the party members expressed their intention to defect to the APC in support of its vision for the constituency.
Also on Friday, he received leaders of the Eleven Thousand Group from Yankara Ward at his residence in Sheme, where they deliberated on party affairs, political mobilisation and strategies for the continued development of the constituency.
He equally hosted APC elders, executives and youth leaders from Mairuwa Ward. The meeting focused on strengthening party cohesion, deepening grassroots engagement and promoting peaceful coexistence among members of the community.
At every engagement, Engr. Sheme reaffirmed Hamza Suleiman's commitment to inclusive representation and sustainable development, describing the APC flag bearer as a visionary leader with the capacity and experience to deliver effective representation for the people of Faskari, Kankara and Sabuwa Federal Constituency.
He urged party members and residents to remain united and continue supporting the APC, while encouraging those wishing to leave opposition parties to join hands in building a stronger and more progressive constituency.
Addressing participants at one of the meetings, Engr. Sheme said: "These engagements provide us with the opportunity to seek the guidance and blessings of our elders. If you entrust us with this responsibility, we will uphold that trust and discharge it faithfully. Support leaders of proven integrity, because the good they do will continue to benefit the people both in this world and in the Hereafter."
He further urged the electorate not to be swayed by political propaganda.
"Do not allow anyone to mislead you. We know what Hamza Suleiman, the Wamban Faskari, accomplished yesterday, we can all see what he is doing today, and we are confident about what he will achieve tomorrow. If anyone asks you to support another candidate, ask them to point to that person's record of service."
Speaking on behalf of the community elders, Alhaji Amadu Wapa commended Engr. Sheme for his relentless efforts in promoting unity and showcasing the achievements and leadership qualities of Hamza Suleiman.
"We sincerely appreciate this visit and commend your dedication to promoting the interest of our son, our leader and our friend. Hamza Suleiman has demonstrated the qualities of a leader and deserves the opportunity to serve the people at a higher level."
He added: "Hamza Suleiman has made Faskari proud through his commitment to the development of our people. We are proud to identify with him and remain confident in his leadership."
Our correspondent reports that the outreach was warmly received in all the communities visited, with residents expressing appreciation for Engr. Sheme's commitment to strengthening community ties, consolidating support for the APC and highlighting Hamza Suleiman's contributions to the development of Faskari Local Government Area and the Faskari/Kankara/Sabuwa Federal Constituency.
