Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has called on Muslims across the state and Nigeria to intensify prayers for peace, unity, and sustainable development.

The Governor made the call in his message commemorating Eid-El-Maulud, which marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Governor Bago congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the occasion, describing the celebration as an important period for both commemoration and deep reflection on the life, teachings, and exemplary virtues of the Holy Prophet.

He urged Muslims to use the occasion to offer fervent prayers for peace, stability, and prosperity in Niger State and Nigeria, while seeking divine guidance for leaders at all levels.

According to the Governor, the significance of Eid-El-Maulud goes beyond celebration, as it provides an opportunity for the faithful to reflect on the values demonstrated by Prophet Muhammad (SAW), including humility, sacrifice, compassion, kindness, integrity, and justice.

He encouraged Muslim faithful to uphold these virtues in their daily lives and contribute positively to the development of their communities and society at large.

Governor Bago further noted that the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) marked a significant moment in human history, bringing divine guidance and the revelation of the Holy Qur’an to humanity.

He therefore urged Muslims to remain committed to the teachings of Islam and promote peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and mutual understanding among Nigerians, irrespective of religious, ethnic, or political differences.

The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s determination to sustain the development strides recorded across Niger State and continue pursuing initiatives aimed at building a more prosperous and peaceful state.

He also appealed to Muslim faithful to continue praying for leaders at all levels, stressing that purposeful leadership, coupled with the support and prayers of citizens, remains essential to achieving sustainable development.

Governor Bago wished the Muslim Ummah a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Eid-El-Maulud celebration, while urging them to make the lessons and virtues of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) a lasting part of their lives.
