The Leader of the Islamic movement, His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, has cautioned Muslims against conflicts and divisions, saying such disputes are being exploited by enemies to weaken and distract the Muslim community.
Sheikh Zakzaky made the remarks on Sunday, September 13, 2026, while delivering an address at the Maulud of the Messenger of Mercy (S), organised by the Resource Forum of the Islamic movement.
The Leader stressed the importance of unity among Muslims and urged the community to return to the authentic teachings of Islam brought by the Messenger of Mercy (S).
“The Messenger came with a complete and perfect religion and established the community upon it. What is incumbent upon us is to follow it,” he said.
Sheikh Zakzaky further stated that those opposed to Islam seek to tarnish the personality and reputation of the Messenger of Mercy (S), having recognised the central role he plays as a symbol of unity among Muslims.
He also warned against conflicts deliberately fomented among Muslims, noting that disputes arising along religious or ethnic lines do not serve the interests of the Muslim community.
According to him, such conflicts primarily benefit those who create and manipulate them for their own interests.
The Islamic movement Leader stated that the enemies deliberately fuel conflicts and insecurity to divert public attention while exploiting the community’s resources, thereby worsening poverty and deepening divisions among the people.
He maintained that recognising and understanding these tactics, strengthening unity within the Muslim community, and returning to the authentic teachings of the Messenger of Mercy (S) are essential steps towards addressing the challenges confronting Muslims.
The annual gathering, organised by the Resource Forum of the movement, brought together participants from different sections of the Muslim community, including imams, Islamic scholars, civil servants and members of the wider public.
The programme commenced at approximately 10:00 a.m. and concluded at 2:00 p.m.
