Do you remember that classic scene from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly?
Blondie is on the verge of death. He is severely dehydrated, blistered by the sun, and barely clinging to life. He desperately needs water, rest, and medical care.
But what does Tuco do? He hovers over him, violently shaking him, yelling, and demanding one thing: "What is the name on the grave?"
Tuco doesn’t care about Blondie’s health. He doesn’t care if the man survives the night. He just needs that one piece of information to unlock the hidden treasure. Once he gets it, Blondie's well-being becomes completely irrelevant.
Sound familiar?
Our current crop of politicians treats everyday citizens exactly like Tuco treats a dying Blondie.
We are the ones on the "sickbed." Our communities are struggling with rising costs, failing infrastructure, inadequate healthcare, and deep economic anxiety. We need real, systemic solutions and genuine care.
But the politicians only want our "secret." To them, the name on the grave is our VOTE. It is the magic key that unlocks their treasure: power, budget control, and political survival.
Just like Tuco, they hover over us during campaign season, suddenly acting like our closest allies. They promise the world, shake our hands, and manipulate our desperation. But notice how they never actually cure the sickness? They just want the prize.
Once election day passes and the votes are counted, the "Tucos" of the political world disappear into the sunset with their gold, leaving the citizens on the same old sickbed until the next cycle.
We need leaders who care about the health of the patient, not just the contents of the vault. It is time to stop letting political Tucos exploit our struggles for their own jackpot.
