The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has congratulated the Nigeria Union of Mines Workers (NUMW) on the successful conduct of its National Delegates Conference (NDC) and the emergence of new national administrative officers to steer the affairs of the union for the next four years.
The congratulatory message was contained in a letter dated October 26, 2026, and signed by the Acting National Secretary of the NLC, Comrade Benson Upah.
In the letter, the Congress acknowledged receipt of a notification from the union regarding the successful conduct of its National Delegates Conference, held on October 8, 2026, during which a new National Administrative Council was elected to lead the union for the next four years.
The NLC congratulated Comrade Musa Adamu Nasko, who emerged as the National President, alongside other elected officers.
The Congress wished the new leadership a successful tenure and urged them to remain committed to the ideals of trade unionism, workers' welfare, unity, and the protection of members' rights and interests.
It further expressed its expectation of continued collaboration with the union in advancing the collective interests of Nigerian workers and strengthening the labour movement.
The letter concluded with an assurance of the Congress's continued fraternal regards to the union.
