The
leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, who is in
detention for nearly five years, has distributed foodstuff to the less
privileged to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir.
The
food items worth millions of Naira was distributed by the eldest son of Sheikh
Zakzaky on his behalf and they include bags of rice, indomie and spaghetti.
The
food items distribution includes the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in
Katsina and Zamfara states, and other Christian communities in Southern Kaduna
as well.
Over
13 states in the North benefited from the distribution of the food items. They
include Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, Plateau, Nasarawa and Bauchi states and
others.
It
is the practice of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky to distribute food items to the poor
and the needy and that has continued even after the Buhari-led government
killed over a thousand of his supporters including his sons and hurled him and
his wife in illegal detention having grievously wounded them and refused to
comply with the judgment of the Federal High Court that declared their detention
as a breach of their fundamental rights.
The
leader sends his best wishes to Muslims all over the world and assures them of
his prayers throughout the season.
Masha Allah
