The members of Zaria Online Journalists Forum (ZOJF) on Friday, 14 April 2023 paid a condolence visit to the family of late Prof Idris Abdulkadir in Zaria.
The team, which was led by the Chairman of the Forum, Ammar Muhammad Rajab was in Zaria to condole the bereaved family over the death of Prof Idris Abdulkadir, who died on Monday, 10 April 2023.
Among the members that were in attendance included a representative from different online media organizations which includes; Madogara, Leadership, Noble News, Freedom Radio, Dillaliya, Rariya, and Daily Struggle Newspaper.
The team which was received on arrival by the second son of the deceased Abdulkadir Idris prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased all his shortcomings and admit him to Jannatul Firdaus.
They also prayed to God to give the family the courage and fortitude to bear the great loss. They also presented a condolence letter to the family.
During an interview with the deceased second son, Abdulkadir Idris admitted that they will miss their father because he is the kind of person that is worthy of emulation; "he is just and honest person. He is also a great leader that always been fair to those under him", he stressed.
The team also visited Prof. Ango Abdullahi at his residence in Zaria to condole with him over the death of his brother and colleague.
Until his death, late Prof. Idris Abdulkadir was the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Zaria Education Development Association (ZEDA) a non-governmental organization.
Late Professor Abdulkadir was a Professor of Veterinary Medicine at ABU Zaria, he rose through the ranks to become Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University.
He was appointed the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC) and moved from Lagos to Abuja where he succeeded in building the magnificent edifice on Aguiyi Ironsi Way, Maitama, Abuja which is now the Headquarters of the Commission.
Indeed an auditorium in Commission is named after him 'Prof Idris Abdulkadir Auditorium'
The late Don was the pioneer Chairman, Governing Board of the defunct Zaria Pharmaceutical Company (ZPC) Ltd, Zaria manufacturer of the 'ZARINJECT disposable syringes and needles'
He was also the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Kaduna State University (KASU), Kaduna.
Prof. Idris Abdulkadir married 3 wives and has 10 children; 6 sons and 4 daughters.
