For one to appreciate Allah's favours is to thank and appreciate those who have helped him in one way or the other and since his swearing into office on the 29th of May, this year, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has continued to receive goodwill messages flowing especially during the inauguration thanks giving dinner organized in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, presided over by the new president, where prayers for success, peace, unity and development of the country were offered by Islamic and Christians clerics.
Most important, however, is how the transition from outgone former President Muhammadu Buhari, his cabinet members, his likers, and dislikers went smoothly in spite of earlier threats from many quarters by some disgruntled elements turned out empty.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a gentleman workaholic has already swung into the action of bringing the expected and most desired positive changes he promised Nigerians and now less bothered by those negative thinkers who do not see anything good once they want to be seen in the opposition.
However, for the right-thinking progressives like Senator Kabiru Marafa of Zamfara state who served as the Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council Coordinator in the state and turned out the highest number of votes for the president in the north and coming third in the nation, it's time to move ahead.
He started this by organizing a dinner at the nation's seat of power, Abuja where it was expected that the Commander-in-Chief, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would be in attendance to thank the Almighty God for answering the fervent prayers of Nigerians ahead of the Presidential elections that the best should emerge as the 16th President.
The dinner also drew high-powered representation from Zamfara including members of state House of Assembly, Governor Matawalle's executive council members, APC Chairman, Tukur Umar Danfulani, party leaders and elders as well as women and youth groups who all converged at the Top Rank Hotels, Jabi-Abuja to thank God, pray for a successful and commendable Tinubu-led Presidential leadership as they dined and drank.
President Tinubu who was represented by the host, Senator Marafa apologized to the people of Zamfara for not personally attending the program giving his tight schedule as the major reason he could not attend, he was quick to show appreciation over how Zamfara people especially the APC members have been conducting themselves even after having purportedly lost the governorship and some legislative positions at the last elections.
The president used the occasion to inform Zamfara people that he will reward all those committed and loyal APC members who have been standing for the party and the good of the state while particularly singling out Governor Matawalle, former governor now Senator Abdulaziz Yari and Senator Kabiru Marafa for the unity achieved in the party which he said earned the party and all its followers more respect and dignity throughout the state.
There were goodwill messages from the participants who called on the president to help in saving the state from insecurity and create avenues that will engage women and youth.
In his address, Senator Kabiru Marafa while appreciating the guests for sparing time to attend the Abuja dinner explained that he organized it in order to bring major stakeholders from the state who worked days and nights to ensure APC Presidential candidate at the 2022 Presidential elections, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu derived the highest votes from Zamfara and by extension, emerging as the president. He noted that when God does anything to his servant, the servant is supposed to thank, appreciate, and pray more for better times.
Senator Marafa also used the event to inform Zamfara people that the party will follow its cases at the Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Sokoto to its logical conclusion to see that it gets back all its stolen mandates, especially as regards the governorship election.
He thanked God for making the dinner, which happened to be the only known victory dinner organized by an individual to celebrate the May 29 inauguration of Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu as the 16 president of Nigeria.
