The leader of the Islamic movement, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky has condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden.
VOI Press reports that this was contained in a statement released by the office of the Sheikh on Twitter on July 1, 2023. He said what happened was unpleasant news and it hurt the heart of the Muslim community and freedom-seeking people.
He described the desecration of the holy Qur'an as an insult not only to Islam and Muslims but also to all the religions of the world, and indeed, the entire humanity.
He urged all freedom-seekers in the world not to succumb to silence and called on the appropriate authorities to punish those that did it.
The Sheikh said; "The despicable news of the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden pains the hearts of all Muslims and freedom-seeking people of the world. This hostile act is not only an insult to Islam and Muslims but also an insult to all the religions of the world, and indeed, the entire humanity. It is, therefore, the duty of every free person not to remain silent in the face of this act.
"We condemn the act and demand that the perpetrators shall be brought to book", he stressed.
