Following the recent appeal court verdict that sacked The then speaker Abubakar Y.Suleiman and his Deputy Hon Jamilu Barade, and orders for a run in some polling units of their respective constituencies
Similarly, members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly have resolved to elect a new Speaker and his Deputy to steer the affairs of the hallowed chamber in accordance with the provision of the law
Mohammad Babayo, a member representing Hardawa constituency emerged as the new speaker of the assembly while Hon Ahmad Abdullahi, a member representing Dass constituency, will serve as Deputy Speaker
This was contained in a statement made available to all media organizations by the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Hon Musa Nakwada, he added that following the decision of the house to elect a new Speaker and Deputy. This has become more necessary to fill the voids created by the appeal court’s judgements.
He, however, noted that they will continue to work with the provision of the constitution of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria, he noted.
