The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has launched a national program on safe school response with the view of protecting the school facilities across Bauchi and Nigeria at large.
The main reason for the initiative was to protect school students and infrastructure against all forms of bullies such as banditry and other crimes against the students to ensure their safety, an adequate atmospheric learning environment has been provided.
In his remarks, the Commandant ILELABOYE W OYEJIDE Bauchi's command of NSCDC highlighted some of the importance of the initiative which was the subscribed via United Nations charter against all forms of terrorism bedevilling our contemporary society.
In another development, the NSCDC commandant noted that the Safe School Response squad was mandated to protect school infrastructure, and students and ensure an improved and acceptable standard of education in collaboration with other stakeholders in Nigeria.
It’s part of the federal government's initiatives in ensuring safety across the divides during and after learning hours in schools in Nigeria, the NSCDC commandant noted.
In another remark, the representative of the Hon Commissioner Ministry of Education Dr Madara who doubled as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education Bauchi state, said that the ministry will give all necessary support in making sure that this laudable and important initiatives have come to stay in Bauchi state, and urged all critical stakeholders to give their supports for the purpose of educational development and prosperity across the state.
In her remarks, the First Lady of Bauchi, Hajiya Aysha Bala Mohammad pointed out the significance of girl-child education in Bauchi and reiterated the commitment of her foundation Al-Muhibbah, in ensuring that our schools are safe and clean with the view of supporting educational growth, and she notably commend the initiative on safe school response squads and calls on stakeholders to support the initiatives.
She equally noted it’s already in the blueprints of her foundation in collaboration with other domestic and international organizations in the global spheres.
The representative of Governor Bala Mohammad, Hon Commissioner of Security and Internal Affairs, Barrister Abubakar Abdulhamid mentioned that this welcome and timely initiative was part of Governor Bala’s cardinal principles, policies and agenda to ensure quality, compulsory and accessible education for all across the state, and assures the stakeholders of government readiness support in implementing the said initiatives.
This initiative had in attendance various dignitaries across the state and the award of excellence was equally conferred on the DG security Umar Aliyu Shayi for his remarkable performance and achievements in the security architecture along with the First Lady of Bauchi state for her support of educational initiatives.
