Alhaji Danladi Inuwa (OC Kwano), the Chairman of Bauchi State Volunteer Political Group, sheds more light on the great achievements of Governor Bala Mohammad of Bauchi State. EDUCATION
Governor Bala Mohammad has achieved significant milestones in the education sector. Five thousand and seventy schools were built across the state under this administration, with over 380 schools equally renovated and furnished with standard equipment. The welfare of teachers has been catered for, and employment opportunities for teachers across the state, along with capacity-building training, are among other notable factors. Additionally, the governor renovated deaf and blind schools with modern, world-class equipment.
School feeding programs have also been successfully implemented from primary to secondary schools across the state. At Bauchi State University, new classes have been built, and new courses introduced at degree levels. In College of Health Sciences and Technology Ningi, the governor has made significant strides, with Provost Garba Hussaini leading commendably. The efforts extend to Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi, where the state government employed lecturers and enhanced the non-academic sector. Governor Bala Mohammad has indeed achieved more than enough in all tertiary institutions in Bauchi state.
INFRASTRUCTURE
In the realm of road construction in Bauchi state, Governor Bala Mohammad has overseen the construction of 2273 roads spanning about 4500 km across the state, along with the provision of drainage systems. Additionally, vehicles have been procured for all government officials, including commissioners, advisers, judges, state assembly members, and local government chairmen, among others.
INSTITUTIONS
Efforts to build sound and effective relationships with traditional institutions have resulted in the renovation of all relevant premises and district heads' offices, alongside the provision of newly branded world-class vehicles.
POWER
The government has made remarkable progress in ensuring power supply to both rural and urban areas in Bauchi state, ensuring 24-hour access. Other achievements include the expansion of Bauchi central market, the provision of Kolmani trailer park, the building of a new Bauchi Hajj camp, and support extended to various transportation companies, unions, and vigilante groups to enhance security.
LEADERSHIP
Governor Bala Mohammad has significantly supported the PDP in the state and nationwide, serving as the chairman of the PDP Governors' Forum. Notable achievements include the establishment of the BAROTA Agency to combat poverty and the upgrade and renovation of Yankari Game Reserve to meet world-class standards. Furthermore, infrastructure enhancements such as the construction of a new government house in Bauchi and the renovation of government lodges in Kaduna, Lagos, and Abuja have been accomplished. The governor has also provided substantial support to small and medium enterprises, totalling over one billion naira in capital. Additionally, the governor has excelled in ensuring security and has received accolades for his contributions to peace initiatives, such as the recent award from the Defence College.
TRADE
The design and construction of the Bauchi modern market at Babangida Square have significantly boosted trade in the state. The civil service has undergone positive transformations, with their welfare being adequately addressed. Renovation efforts have extended to religious centres across the state.
AWARD
Governor Bala Mohammad's outstanding contributions to peace initiatives in Nigeria were recently recognized by the Defence College. His achievements in sports development and human and capital development are noteworthy, making a significant impact on various fronts.
