The Nigerian Association of Women in Agriculture (NAWIA), Zamfara State Chapter, recently bestowed an award of distinction upon Hajiya Huriya, the Wife of the Zamfara Governor, in recognition of her tireless efforts to empower women within the state. This acknowledgement underscores her significant contributions to the advancement of women's livelihoods.
Hajiya Shema'u Nalado, the coordinator of NAWIA's Zamfara State chapter, lauded the First Lady's noteworthy achievements, citing her instrumental role in uplifting the economic status of women across the state. Specifically, Hajiya Huriya's initiatives, such as providing financial support to women for the enhancement of their small-scale enterprises, have been instrumental in fostering self-reliance among female entrepreneurs.
Highlighting the collaborative efforts of Hajiya Huriya and her husband, Dr. Dauda Lawal, Hajiya Shema'u Nalado underscored their shared commitment to revitalizing Zamfara State's economic landscape, particularly in areas such as entrepreneurship and socio-economic development.
In her address, Mallama Khadija Mahaarazu, the State Secretary of the Nigerian Association of Women in Agriculture, Zamfara Chapter, emphasized NAWIA's multifaceted approach to women's empowerment.
