The Commissioner of Police of Zamfara State Police Command, CP Muhammad Shehu Dalijan, representing the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, presented cheques totaling Fifty million, one hundred and forty-five thousand, one hundred and nineteen naira eighty-three kobo (50,145,119.83) only to the 27 next of kin of officers who died while serving their country.
These cheques were issued as part of the IGP's initiative under the Group Personal Accident and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Schemes of the Force, aimed at assisting the families of officers who have paid the ultimate price with their lives.
In a statement by the ASP Yazid Abubakar, Public Relations Officer, the CP, while presenting the cheques, expressed gratitude to the IGP for his generous gesture and appealed to the families of the deceased officers to utilize the funds responsibly in caring for their families.
Meanwhile, Mr. Yahaya Umar, one of the beneficiaries, in his remarks on behalf of others, thanked the Inspector General of Police and the state police Command for their support. He also assured that the money given to them would be wisely spent.
