The Kaduna State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, set up a 13-man adhoc committee to investigate financial transactions, loans, grants and projects execution under the immediate-past governor of the State, Malam Nasir El-rufai.
Hon. Yusuf Mugu, member representing Kaura constituency, moved the motion on matter of public importance that the loans borrowed by the former governor be investigated.
The Speaker of the House, Hon. Yusuf Dahiru Liman, who presided over the plenary, urged the adhoc committee to invite all the relevant stakeholders for questioning and investigation of the matters, such as the former speakers of the 8th and 9th Assembly, commissioners of finance, former managing directors of Kaduna markets, and commissioners of budget and planning, among others.
It could be recalled that Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State recently disclosed that his administration was not finding it easy to run the affairs of the state due to the huge debt profile incurred by the past administration of Nasir El-Rufai.
