The ICT Business Forum, organized by the Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD), was held on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024, at the CITAD Office in Bauchi.
The event convened entrepreneurs, investors, and technology enthusiasts to explore the importance of digital technologies in fostering entrepreneurial growth in Northern Nigeria.
Kicking off with a keynote address by the Director of the Digital Economy Unit at the Bauchi State Bureau for ICT, the speaker praised CITAD for its proactive approach in advancing technological innovation. He underscored the essential role of organizations like CITAD in complementing government initiatives.
Emphasizing the importance of the discussions and presentations, he urged participants to network and engage actively throughout the program, underlining the indispensability of ICT in modern-day life.
The CITAD’s Program Officer, Mujahid, in his opening remarks, emphasized the imperative for entrepreneurs to integrate digital technologies into their businesses to remain competitive in today's digital age.
He welcomed participants to the forum, setting the tone for the insightful discussions ahead.

for Growing Your Business Online.”
He elaborated on various approaches to leveraging websites and social media platforms for effective advertisement of goods and services, providing practical insights for entrepreneurs aiming to enhance their online presence.
Muhammad Aliyu Sambo,
the Team Lead of Five Star ICT LTD, led an engaging session on the “Landscape
of Tech Solutions in Northern Nigeria.” Drawing from real-life examples, he
shed light on the diverse range of tech solutions emerging from the region,
fostering an interactive dialogue with participants.
The forum also offered a platform for participants to share their experiences, including both successes and failures, in the startup ecosystem. This exchange of insights and lessons learned enriched the discussions and inspired attendees to navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship with resilience and innovation.
The objectives of the event are to enhance participants' understanding of the role of social media in promoting accountability, to equip them with practical skills for utilizing social media tools and platforms for advocacy and accountability campaigns, to facilitate knowledge sharing and networking to strengthen collaboration and collective action in accountability initiatives, and to empower them to develop and implement effective social media strategies for advocating transparency and accountability in their respective contexts.
