Due to her outstanding contributions to girls' and women's advocacy, girls' child empowerment, and gender equality, Zamfara First Lady Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal received another merit award conferred on her by the Peace Ambassadors Network.
The occasion, which took place at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution in Abuja, witnessed notable Nigerians among the recipients of the award.
Receiving the award, the Governor's wife, Huriyya Lawal, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah as well as to the organizers of the event for recognizing her among some Nigerians of impeccable character.
"I am glad, feel fulfilled, and honored with high esteem to be among the beneficiaries of these awards. Nominating me among the awardees is an exceptional honor to me as pinpointed 'Most Notable Female Advocate.'
"I thank you most sincerely for recognizing my contributions even outside the shores of Nigeria."
The statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor's wife on Media and Communication, Zara'u Musa, said the First Lady took the award as an encouragement that would give her more zeal and determination to do more in raising the status of women and children.
She, however, assured that she would continue initiating empowerment programs that have a direct bearing on the people.
Huriyya Lawal also described her husband, Dauda Lawal, as the bedrock and yardstick for all the successes she has achieved.
Lastly, she dedicated the award to the good people of Zamfara State.
