Under the leadership of Dr. Nasir Sabo Idris, the executive chairman of the Jigawa State Internal Revenue Service, the following achievements were made:

1. Improvement in Taxpayer Database: The number of registered taxpayers in Jigawa State increased from 5,000 to 16,000 from September 2023 to date.

2. IGR Improvement: Jigawa State's annual Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), as published by the National Bureau of Statistics and the Joint Tax Board, increased from N20.5 billion in 2022 to N26.7 billion in 2023. This represents about a 30% improvement.

3. Automation of Revenue Collection Process: JIRS introduced electronic payment of taxes and levies through the Remita and PayDirect platforms, which it is working to enforce throughout the state.

4. Jigawa State Enlightenment and Engagement Tax Teams: We introduced tax teams that go out every week to educate and sensitize taxpayers throughout Jigawa State to encourage voluntary tax compliance.

5. Mobilizing and Registering Artisans for Tax Purposes: About 3,000 artisans were mobilized and registered for tax purposes. These artisans were paired with large contractors to engage them, which will significantly encourage voluntary tax compliance among artisans.

6. Facilitating Tax-for-Service Arrangements with Hadejia Market: This initiative led to the registration of over 1,000 additional taxpayers from the market.

7. Introduction of Consumption Tax Teams: Consumption tax collection teams were introduced, which go out on tax collection and enforcement drives every Wednesday from hotels, restaurants, and entertainment centers throughout Jigawa State.

8. Introduction of Single Haulage Collection Teams: Single haulage collection teams were introduced throughout major markets in Jigawa State.

9. Introduction of Road Taxes Enforcement Teams: Road taxes enforcement teams were introduced throughout the state.

10. Regular Joint Enforcement: Regular joint enforcement operations were conducted together with the FRSC, NPF, and Nigeria Civil Defence.

These initiatives have significantly enhanced the efficiency and effectiveness of the Jigawa State Internal Revenue Service.
