Free health care was launched to mark the one-year anniversary of Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani in office at Makarfi Local Government General Hospital, Kaduna State. Our correspondent visited the hospital to see for himself how the work was being carried out.
Qualified doctors were performing treatments in various health fields. Because of this, our correspondent conducted an interview with a woman who underwent optical surgery, named Malama Salamatu from the town of Anchau. Malama Salamatu said she underwent surgery free of charge with the support of Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani. She prayed to Allah to help the governor just as he helped them.
Malam Adamu Abubakar from Kudan, whose two children underwent hernia surgery, also prayed for the governor and commended him for the effort.
Doctor Ahmad Aliyu led the team of doctors performing the surgeries. The doctor said they came to the hospital to perform the surgeries free of charge under Primary Health Care, which is overseen by Alhaji Bello Jamo throughout Kaduna State under the government of Senator Uba Sani, based on his promise to prioritize health care in his administration.
The doctor added that they were collaborating with doctors from Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital Shika, Zaria. They were performing various types of surgeries, including hernia and optical surgeries, and treating conditions such as hypertension, typhoid, malaria, and diabetes.
The doctor said they would treat hundreds of people within four days. The entire work is under the supervision of the Health Secretary of the Kaduna State Government. They were receiving the needed support from him as a leader, and people were also providing the necessary cooperation, ensuring everything was moving as planned.
