The Zamfara State Security Trust Fund has visited Maru and Tsafe Emirates to assess the extent of security challenges and solicit the support of communities in mobilizing resources to combat insecurity.
Addressing the Emirates, the ZSTF Chairman, Muhammed Abubakar, said, 'As the body entrusted with the responsibility to source funds for security management, we see the need to reach out to communities for effective collaboration and synergy.
'Being the organization established for the first time in the state, there is a need to sensitize people on its duties and responsibilities.
'The other mandates of the trust fund are critical assessment of security challenges, intelligence gathering and sharing, and procurement of security gadgets as well as logistical materials,' he said.
He also mentioned that the advocacy visit was a demonstration of committee members' commitment to carrying out the tasks ahead of them.
He expressed condolences to the Emirs and families of the deceased ones, praying to Allah to grant their souls eternal rest.
In their separate remarks, the Emirs of Maru, Alhaji Abubakar Gado-Maigari, and that of Tsafe, Muhammad Baw, expressed happiness with the visit and promised to give the needed support for the return of peace in the state.
'We have already engaged ourselves in special prayers in various mosques within the Emirates, and it has started yielding results.
'With the composition of your committee, we believe that the desired objectives will be achieved. Therefore, we urge you to ensure justice in all dealings,' they said.
The Emirates promised full support of all kinds to the committee and the overall policies and programs of the state.
