Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to collaborating with the Federal Government to support the Nigerian Army and the Armed Forces in general.

Governor Umaru Bago made this statement during the inauguration of the new Nigerian Army Armoured Corps Headquarters complex, as well as the reunion and pulling-out parade of retired Army Generals in Bauchi.

Represented by the Commissioner for Homeland Security, Gen. Muhammad Abdullahi Bello (Rtd), Governor Umaru Bago expressed his appreciation for the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, recognizing his tireless efforts in providing purposeful leadership to the Nigerian Army.

He also praised the decision to name the new Nigerian Army Armoured Corps Complex after Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, describing him as a respected elder statesman who has significantly contributed to nation-building, particularly in human capital development and infrastructure.

Governor Umaru Bago extolled Gen. Babangida's virtues, highlighting his exceptional role as an Armoured Officer and his contributions to the development of the Armour Corps and the Nigerian Army at large.

He further commended the retired Army officers for their sacrifices and for laying a strong foundation for the nation. He noted that the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps Headquarters complex symbolizes their exceptional service to the country.

Governor Umaru Bago emphasized that the event provided a platform for serving officers to reunite with veterans, fostering a sense of camaraderie. He remarked that the retiring officers' journey, marked by exemplary service, leadership, and sacrifice, would continue to inspire both current and future generations.
