Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has reiterated his administration's dedication to working tirelessly for the people of the state. He made this statement on Sunday following a congratulatory dinner organized to honor him for his continued infrastructure development efforts.
The governor announced plans to construct a 10-meter dual carriageway with an underpass from Bekaji roundabout to the airport. This announcement, made at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Yola, sparked considerable discussion, further justifying his recognition as the best governor in infrastructure development.
Governor Fintiri has directed the State Ministry of Works and Energy to present the project for approval by the state council by the end of July. He emphasized the importance of expanding infrastructure to attract investors, stating, “If we don’t expand on infrastructure, we are not going to attract investors. If they come to our city driving on potholed roads with dustbins by the side, who will invest?”
He continued, “We have to make the town clean, safe, and developed with modern infrastructure.” Fintiri assured that the former Mubi roundabout flyover would be completed soon, and the AA Lawal junction project would be finished within the next six months. Additionally, the 21-kilometer Super Highway with a cloverleaf at the FGGC is expected to be completed next year, providing a significant boost to property development in the area.
Governor Fintiri highlighted his administration's credible reforms and institutional strengthening, which have drawn the attention of global rating agencies. He revealed that these efforts have led to substantial grants and projects, including a $45 million grant from UNICEF for the health sector and an expected $80 million project for the education sector.
He also expressed his administration’s commitment to constructing over 2,000 modern shops at the former Jimeta shopping complex, the Yola market, and the 20-kilometer Federal Housing road network, among other projects.
