The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Niger State Council, has expressed sadness over the demise of Alhaji Abdullahi Abdul Paiko (Jarman Minna), stressing that Allah is all-knowing and that all the affairs of men are under His command.
In a statement signed by the Assistant Secretary of the Council, Comrade Abubakar Adamu Kuta, the Chairman described the death of the retired Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youths and Sports Development, whose passing occurred on Monday, July 22, 2024, as a huge loss not only to his family and the Minna Emirate but also to the media industry.
He noted that the deceased was a media guru whose devotion and contributions to the development of Niger State, sports administration, journalism, and information management would remain legendary.
Comrade Abu Nmodu further remarked that the death of Jarman Minna has created a significant vacuum that will be hard to fill, considering the advisory role he played in managing complex issues that affected the journalism profession.
"The loss of Alhaji Abdullahi Abdul Paiko is painful and colossal, especially as he still had much to contribute to his family. He was highly devoted to his family, community, and the entire state, but we take solace in the fact that he lived a very responsible, inspiring, and caring life worthy of emulation by all.
“Indeed, his pedigree, manners, and conduct while alive will continue to linger in our memory and serve as a source of inspiration,” Chairman Abu Nmodu said.
He prayed for Allah (SWT) to forgive the deceased of his shortcomings, grant him the highest place in Aljannat Firdaus, and give his family, members of the media community, and all those affected by his death the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
