Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Muhammad has sworn in the newly elected 20 Local Government Chairmen, marking the beginning of their term in office.
In a ceremony held at the Government House in Bauchi, attended by government functionaries, party loyalists, and stakeholders, the governor highlighted his commitment to good governance and local government autonomy.
Governor Bala Muhammad emphasized the importance of local government autonomy, stating that his administration supports the decision to make local governments fully autonomous for the overall development of rural communities.
He expressed his resolve to organize elections to ensure that the people are legitimately governed and urged the chairmen to complement his administration's efforts in providing good governance.
The governor charged the chairmen to be accountable, transparent, and responsive to the needs of their people. He reminded them that they were elected to serve and ensure that their basic needs are met, such as access to healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
